Juan Soto walked off the field at Nationals Park on Sunday with just over 48 hours to go until the Trade Deadline. For the 23-year-old star outfielder at the center of the baseball rumor circuit, the clock is ticking toward 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday.

“I just want to get it over with and see what’s going to happen,” Soto said following the Nationals’ 5-0 loss to the Cardinals. “I mean, just go over that day and start over here or wherever I’m at.”

While a Shohei Ohtani trade remains "extremely unlikely" before next week's deadline, the Los Angeles Angels haven't entirely ruled out the possibility, according to a report.

The report speculates that the Angels will wait until after the Washington Nationals trade Juan Soto to see what haul the outfielder brings.

Ohtani, 27, is making just $5.5 million this season and he'll hit free agency after the 2023 campaign.

The Boston Red Sox have informed Xander Bogaerts that they won't be trading him before the trade deadline.

When asked whether he had been given assurance from the front office he would not be dealt, Bogaerts replied, "Yeah. I don't know if I should say that, but I hope I don't get in trouble. But yeah, much better like that. Communication is always huge in everything in life. To get that type of feedback is beneficial, I would say."

Bogaerts can opt out of the final three years of his contract this offseason.

Shohei Ohtani answered questions about his future with the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday as the club dropped to 15 games under .500.

Ohtani was asked if he still wants to be with the Angels after the trade deadline next week.

"Regardless of where I'm playing, I'm going to give it my all and try to win that ballgame in front of me," the reigning American League MVP said. "I'm with the Angels right now, and I'm very thankful for what they've done. I love my team and my teammates. Right now I'm an Angel, and that's all I can focus on."

Ohtani, who turned 28 earlier this month, is set to become a free agent after the 2023 season.

Red Sox chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom said Wednesday that the team hasn't discussed trading All-Stars Xander Bogaerts or Rafael Devers at the deadline, and "we're not planning to discuss them with anybody."

Bloom told reporters before the game against Cleveland that he still thinks the Red Sox, who entered the night 3½ games back in the AL wild-card race, can grab a postseason berth. 

The Boston Red Sox are falling out of the American League Wild Card race and may become sellers ahead of the trade deadline.

The Red Sox have put J.D. Martinez "out in the trade market," according to a report. The remainder of Martinez's $19.375 salary could make a trade difficult, but he's a productive rental piece and Boston could eat some of the cost.

Despite the possibility of selling off pieces, Boston isn't currently listening to offers for Xander Bogaerts or Rafael Devers.

The Detroit Tigers are willing to trade "just about everyone" including Tarik Skubal, according to a report.

The 25-year-old has struggled as of late but has a high strikeout rate and won't be eligible for free agency until after the 2026 season. 

Skubal was a ninth round pick in 2018.

The Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees are among the clubs interested in acquiring Jose Quintana from the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to a report.

Quintana is scheduled to become a free agent after the season, making him an expected trade chip for Pittsburgh.

The pitcher began his career with the White Sox.

Juan Soto has been treated with cheers and chants of "Future Dodger!" this week while the Washington Nationals are in Los Angeles.

The Nationals are listening to trade offers for Soto after he turned down a $440 million extension with the club.

"I never think about it because I never see myself in any of that. I've always been loyal to the Nationals, I've always been there for them. Everywhere I'm going, they try to pull me out of my team," Soto said when asked whether playing for the Dodgers has crossed his mind.

"... It's been a tough week. And to get to see if I'm going to stay there or if I'm going, it's going to really flush my mind." 

The Oakland Athletics are receiving plenty of interest in Sean Murphy as the trade deadline nears, according to a report.

Murphy, 27, has three seasons of club control remaining beyond this season and the A's have two highly touted catching prospects in the Minor Leagues.

He's hitting .245/.320/.429 this season in 364 plate appearances.
